The best looking infotainment upgrade that ive seen How you getting on with the install? Am following this thread. Display as a link instead, × It's a project that I've been putting off for a year because I couldn't get the plastic to look good enough even after following workshop 12s videos that offer some guidance. I believe there is a few in this thread. However they charge about $300AUD for what im guessing is maybe $40AUD in plastic. Maybe try a different computer. This tablet is not included in the kit. Quite excited about how it's all going to look. I'm just not sure I like it THAT much to commit trying it.

OK, not really done anything like this before but thought I'd document my build here in case anyone else is interested (and also to get help as I go along!). It's all installed in place, although I changed my plans slightly regarding wiring in the speakers etc. I'll see how this goes first.. I had a body shop sand and paint mine for $100. After my third attempt didn't come out how I wanted it too I put it off for another couple months until deciding to vinyl wrap it. Close.

What I wasn't able to test out is how the shifter trim will slide up under the bottom of the plastics. This required the cross piece cutting out...a really complicated task involving a hacksaw and 20 seconds of hard work. The brainiac kit is for sure the best and only oem solution, but I too am annoyed how it costs hundreds of dollars for two pieces of printed plastic. Update: I got the steering wheel controls programmed using the Joycon EXR today! It was my first time using vinyl and I have the v1 plastics (one piece instead of two) which gave some difficulty on the bottom of the 3 dials. × Looks good so far paint job appears a good matte factory finish. They are also working on a comprehensive app for android (Brainiac), but as that's not finished yet, I'll be looking for other alternatives and tricks as the hardware buttons for home, back, volume etc will not be accessible. I've been trying to find someone local with a car to test if it will slide up under.Tim'.
