The 5Ghz light is not on on the router and the 2.4 Ghz light is on, 2.4 is working. Try reconnecting your device(s).
There is no logical reason for any ISP to hide the multiple guest account capability that resides in the modem and end up expending manpower having to set these up over the phone. Yikes.. something definately is up.I would reboot the modem to start, may clear it up. Look out for the message in your inbox! So I first tried installing the USB software.
Here is the instruction link, but it won't do any good as explained above as the user interface does not resemble what is stated in the instructions. I forgot to note that the 5G network shows up on my other devices such as tablets, phones and AppleTV... Just on the computer it won't show up... it used to... but not anymore.

Most consumer-grade Windows laptops do not... Easy way to tell: if the specs say 802.11b/g/n, then that means 2.4GHz-only. 08:21 PM Thats a little more painful, but it should work. If you left click on the wifi symbol located on the lower right hand corner of your screen, it should bring up all of the local networks, ranked basically by receive power, so both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks should be at the top of the list, unless you have a nearby neighbour who is running a wifi router with enough power to put his network at the top of that list. Shortly after setting this up I noticed that my 5 GHz network band name (both my original 5G and 5G_EXT names) would drop from being visible in all Mac & PC devices.
Both iPhone 6, iPhone 5 and Ipad found 5G and non-5G signal, but my wife and my latop could only find the non 5G signal, which is much slower than 5G (only 40Mbs download speed). I finally called Shaw support a few weeks ago and they couldn't trouble shoot the problem. Solved! The one is PammieTee and the other is PammieTee-5G. So, every time you want to use it, you have to run the executable from the stick.
